Enrollment

What are the requirements for enrollment?

All enrollees must bring 2 pieces 1×1 ID picture.Students who studied at a different institution and wish to enroll in higher JLPT courses (N4, N3, N2) must provide a copy of their recent JLPT certificate or take an evaluation exam.

I am not a Filipino citizen. Can I enrol in your courses?

Non-Filipino enrollees who wish to join entry-level courses must at least have a working knowledge of Filipino and/or English.

Is there a minimum educational background needed to enroll?

There is no minimum educational background required.

Payment

What are your payment terms?

JLRC accepts cash, bank transfer/deposit, and checks. Installment is allowed for longer classes. Please contact us for more details.

How much are the textbooks and workbooks?

Textbooks and workbooks are included in the tuition fee. There are no additional charges for them.

Can I get a refund if I decide to withdraw my enrollment?

Enrollees who wish to cancel his/her enrollment before the start of the class must notify JLRC immediately and must return the receipt and any training material given to them.JLRC shall refund any fees paid based on the following terms:
90% if cancellation is made ten (10) days prior to the start of the training.
70% if cancellation is made seven (7) days prior to the start of the training.
50% if cancellation is made five (5) days prior to the start of the training.

Please note that no refund shall be made for late cancellations (4 days or less prior to the start of the training), non-attendance, or any other reason once the training is underway.

In case the class is dissolved, the student may opt to wait for the next batch, transfer to a different course, or request for a refund. JLRC shall give a full refund of any fees paid provided the student returns the receipt and any training material given to them.

Please note that training materials must be returned to JLRC in pristine condition. If material is returned soiled, used, or damaged, a corresponding charge per book will be deducted from the refund.

Do you give discounts?

The following discounts are automatically awarded on the following conditions:

Full payment (JLPT and TESDA Courses only)
10%
Payment by post-dated checks (JLPT Courses only)
3%
Continuing student
10%

Students may combine discounts (e.g. a continuing student may receive an additional discount if he/she pays the tuition fee in full) but please note that only a maximum of 15% discount will be given.

Attendance and Class Conduct

Is there an attendance requirement?

Students must attend at least 70% of the total number of hours of the course.Students who are absent for five (5) consecutive meetings without giving notice to the teacher-in-charge or JLRC admin will automatically be DROPPED from the course. Please note that the course fee shall not be refunded.

Is there a minimum passing grade for your courses?

Students must complete all exams, quizzes, and other pertinent assessments required in their course with a minimum overall grade of 70%.

Course Completion

Will I get a certificate after completing a course?

Students who successfully complete a course will receive a certificate from JLRC which includes the total number of hours, the date of completion, and their JLRC student number. Students who successfully complete our Fundamental of Japanese Language and Work Ethics class will also receive a certificate registered with TESDA which includes the total number of hours, date of completion, and the Units of Competencies.
